1. Firstly open a blank Notepad file.
2. Now write .LOG as the first line in the file, and then press enter. Now save the file and close it.
3. Open the notepad file now and you will find that the current date and time has been appended (put) at the end and the cursor is in the next line.
4. Type your notes and then save and close the file.
5. Each time you open the file, Notepad repeats the process that is it appends the date and time to the end of the file and places the cursor below it.
This way you can keep track of all your entries, you can easily maintain what you wrote when. This can work very much like a personal diary.

New Download

The Older location of download of Life Logger has been Disabled by Live Folders without any Notice. See it in body of the post. Thanks!

Time is indispensable in a project. Always keep track of the time taken to complete a particular task. Record the amount of time taken for each task. This gives an insight into the amount taken for completion of a particular task in contrast to the amount you had planned for the task.

Ah, But you say youre already tracking that, using time sheets. Unfortunately, time sheets is only intended for payroll accounting and does no measure of real progress of project. Most of the time, developers end up with filling 40 hours in the time sheet whether they really worked or not.

Our aim is to track the real success of the project, no fooling around. There are a pretty set of handy tools to track your workday such as the ones @ LifeHacker, a VBScript called QuickLogger.vbs(you can get it downloaded from LifeHacker). I have been using it around for a while. Its quite handy to log your work day.

But i have encountered a problem in searching my past worklogs. So i have created my own daylogger tat can log your work and you can search through the logs in a simple way.

Here is a Quick Screen Shot of the Application,

See it on Flickr

Type in your query in the top most text box, this filters and shows you the logs of that type, type in the date, voila, you get the worklog of the day

You Can get LifeLogger From Here{Disabled}

You can get the download Location from here

Note : It creates a log.txt in the same folder as lifelogger.exe is present, so its portable, have it even in your pen drive.

Get back to me if you have any queries or Feature requests @ arvindslog [at] gmail [dot] com.

Thanks!
